Four bathroom flooring trends

Bathrooms might be small, but they have a big job. They're highly functional but also need to be stylish since they set the tone of the entire house. Mosaics = distinctive design

Mosaics are the tiny, often-glass coated, and highly decorative pieces often used as accents but are now hot, hot, hot in bathrooms. Not only do they provide a gorgeous design, but they are also mold and mildew resistant, a great benefit for such a wet and steamy room. It should also be noted a mosaic installation can increase traction or grip. That's because of the many grout lines required for these small-size ceramics, which result in a more textured area.

Black and white stenciled tiles

Wow! These are Spanish, Greek, Roman, Arabesque florals and geometric abstracts that fit into any decor, whether vintage, retro, or farmhouse, etc. One of the first things you'll notice in the flooring store is that these figurative or representational designs can be somewhat hypnotizing since the eye keeps following the design!

Wood-look tiles

Wood floors, and by extension, wood look floors, are trending, and that's expected to last 15 years or more. Thanks to a new technology called Inkjet, these have intricate raised grains and all colors, including gray, whitewashed, mahogany, and high variation. The tiles can be cut into planks of all sizes.

We should also mention that you can also get realistic wood looks with luxury vinyl, waterproof flooring, and the waterproof version of laminate.

Encaustic-style tiles

They got their start in the Victorian and Edwardian eras and are, once again, popular. An encaustic tile pattern is bold and vivid, looks inlaid, and comprises at least two (but sometimes as many as six) clay colors. They first became popular in Europe, but as technology evolved, they came over here.
